The new proposal from AMPTP Suggests a New Paradigm in ATL Guild Deals

According to a breaking news report coming out of Deadline, the AMPTP is looking to change the way Hollywood negotiates its labor deals with DGA, SAG-AFTRA and WGA. The new thinking from new AMPTP leadership is to help the Guilds' by infusing $110M in cash to prop up their underwater health plans in return for an adjustment in term duration. The Guild plans have been hit hard by the multiple production calamities in the last five years (COVID, Strikes, Fires, etc.). The AMPTP is reportedly planning to ask for five year terms instead of the normal three year deals. The current WGA deal ends May 1, 2026 and the DGA and SAG-AFTRA deals end in June of 2026.
